Here is goes...again

A summary of events. ;) Okay so once again forever has gone by and I have not posted. So I am taking advantage of my mini vacation to Logan to update you all, aren't you excited? Well this would have been easier if I could remember things longer than two days to a week at a time week but good thing pictures help. But before I start with things that were jogged by photos I'll tell you some things that I do remember.

First, I am a certified, fully licensed Utah State Notary. I retook the test got 100%, whoo-hoo!, got bonded, the state gave me a certificate, and I got a stamp! Wow there's a sentence for ya. Anyhoo, I can now notarize. I haven't yet but I could.

Secondly, since my last post I have been terrible at taking pictures. I've been leaving that up to others and trying to remember what it is I'm supposed to be getting done. I hope this syndrome stops now that the Feast is over. Anyhoo, this usually isn't a problem because there are other people around that love taking pictures until I'm at the Western National Black and White cow show with Ben and John. This show is in Richmond(that's a few miles north of Logan) and this year it happened to be a week before Shavout. This show is huge. People from Canada, Washingtion, California, Wisconsin, etc come and it's an interesting show. Sorry there's not pictures...it was cool. I'll blame Ben. ;)

Okay onward. To the photo blog of my life.

I got this herb growing kit to start things in the house because outside can't make up it's mind.

It came with these pellets for the dirt and you just add water.

And look it made chocolate pudding.

All said and done.

And look their growing. Actually this is an older picture because they have grown more than this. I'm excited. But I need to transplant them to outside and I'm scared the wind it going to kill them. I guess at some point I'll just have to do it. I have a few other lawn and garden projects in the works but they are very much "in process". So I'm saving them for a later post. :)

Oh yes! I got patio furniture!!! I love it! Also THANK YOU Kenneth for helping, okay fine, for putting it all together for me. ;) Love you.

He "loves" when I take pictures of him doing things and puts them on my blog. (I am forgiven)

See look how pretty it is and it is really comfortable.

We HAD to try out the patio furniture so we grilled up supper.

Kenneth, is this really better? Why turn from the camera?

Yum. I had forgotten how nice it is to have a table to eat on since there is NO room in the Shack for one.

The Thursday before the Feast weekend, hey I'm surprised I remember it was a Thursday, we had supper over at the Shack and once again enjoyed the great outdoors. It was kinda cold and more than kinda windy but nothing was stopping us now.
Good picture of everyone eating. :) Love those.

I don't know what Kenneth was trying to say here but ....whatever, I didn't listen.

Sharon enjoying the Seasons...all four in a half hour.

Tara.

We have a birds living at the Shack.

They've made their home. And they sing in the early mornings.....and meet us as we walk out the door. I've painted a pretty picture if only it where true.

Last Thursday I went hiking up Baker Creek and had a good time. I decided I need to take more time to do things like that. So I've scheduled them in....lol. But really it actually turned out to be a beautiful day up there while the winds were blowing like crazy in the valley. So enjoy some of my nature photos in closing. I'll try to post again soon. I'm off to play with a crazy cute niece of mine.

Cow Show and then some

Okay I know it's been a week but I gotta tell you about the cow show. The first day of a cow show is all about waking up really really early after being up really really late. Ben and John get up and milk the cows and I show up get in the truck and fall back to sleep because I am lazy.

On the trip up to Ogden we listened to sports radio and now I'm back to watching the Jazz. Yes that's what I needed. :)I spent three days with Ben and John and I'm back to being the worlds biggest Jazz fan. LOL. Once we were at the fairgrounds the plan was to set up the clipping area, making room for the feed, create the bed for the cows ,and get the cows washed and resting in record time. I'll just post some pictures to help tell the story....

Our happy cows after the long day.

Our happy fitter after a long day. :)

John from USU and John C

P1 was so not happy and would NOT lay down...I think it was 30 something hours before she finally gave in a got off her feet. Cows....

Ben clipping and fitting.

Day 2. We needed sawdust for the cows bed because what they gave us wasn't going to last long so the guys went into IFA and I got restless waiting so I pulled out the camera.(I know...none of that sounds like me)

Then it was forever later.....

And back to work.

Day 3. Chandra and Christain came in to help is out(Thursday)...THANK YOU! And Chandra and I took the early shift on show day and took care of the cows. These are some fantastic action shots of Chandra catching poop and looking great! :) (it was 3 am...there are reasons there are NO pictures of me...hee hee)

Christian showing his heifer. He did a fantastic job!

And that's about that. It was tons of work and it was fun. Annette got some great pictures and you'll have to check out her blog...except I somehow always look like a scary lady at cow shows. I have this problem… I like cow shows but on show day when it comes down to time to get things done and get the cows ready to go, I turn into a grumpy lady. Maybe grumpy isn't the right word, focused. That sounds nicer....I like to get the cows ready to go the way they should and I get tunnel vision when it comes to getting the job done. And believe me I have had to apologize on many occasion. Anyhoo, let’s not focus on the less wonderful points...let’s just say I'm grateful that I have people that put up with me and even say they love me. ;)

Terrible Blogger

I knew I'd be terrible at this blogging thing. I lack discipline. Plain and simple. I think about blogging a lot. I think "humm I should blog about that" and then that's where it ends, sad but true. Maybe this isn't so much a lack of discipline as a lack of endurance. I seem to be able to do things for about 1.25 minutes before I don't anymore. Over this last Passover weekend we talked about not only our fruit but producing fruit that lasts. Hummm...something I need to think about. Anyhoo, on to the future.

Oh wait first we must have a most random and confusing and most delightful catch up post. :) Prepare yourself to enjoy. LOL. What have I been doing you might ask(well besides NOT blogging)? I'm going to start with the most current and hopefully hit the highlights of the last few weeks. Today I took the State of Utah Notary exam. Yes I did it and I have no idea if I passed or not. I'll find out sometime in the next week....in the snail mail. I'm not very good at taking tests and can never tell by just going by how it felt so I have no idea if I did well or not. I'll keep you posted...maybe not if the news is bad and I have to take it again. JK. I'm just nervous because you can only miss like 4 questions. But luckily for me my next week might be busy enough I'll have no time to wonder about it and it's doing one of my favorite things.

People think I'm odd for a lot of reasons and one of them is probably because I love to go to cow shows. I like the work. Every year when show season starts, which is around the second week in April, I start bugging Ben about when we get to start clipping cows. This year has been interesting though because of the cold and we didn't want to freeze the poor things by cutting off all their hair so we put it off as long as we could. I don't know what it is about shows and the work but I find it fun. I couldn't and wouldn't do it all year but now again it's just fantastic.

Okay so that covers the highlights of this week...last week...let me look at my calendar..lol. Yes I'm one of those people that has to remind themselves what they did just yesterday let alone last week. :) So I write everything down in a planner and I'd be lost without it. Oh yes last week was the Sedar and Passover prep and firefighting training. Okay Sharon took some pictures of me in my turnouts....don't laugh.

It was getting a little warm in there.
So I started taking off the gear which looked like I was stripping ......Ta da!!Here I am. A firefighter in training(so far so good). Sharon and I had fun laughing. Sharon, I'm so happy you had a fantastic trip but I missed you and it's wonderful to laugh until we cry again. :)
Well now we're all caught up. On to the future...I'll try to be a better blogger.
